Have you ever left a conversation and thought, why did I say yes to that? Or agreed to something you didn't actually want to do? Maybe stayed quiet when something mattered? Or walked away from a relationship, feeling like you somehow disappeared? A lot of us move through our lives reacting to expectations, roles, and relationships without ever stopping to ask one simple question. Where am I in this? I'm Dr. Lee Long, a therapist for almost three decades and author of Wait. Where am I in this? And this is wait. Let's talk about that. A podcast that helps you understand yourself so your relationships can thrive. In this podcast, we're going to slow down and look at the patterns we often overlook, like people pleasing, attachment, conflict, boundaries, and the roles we tend to play in our families and relationships. After working with thousands of clients for almost three decades, what I have found is that when we begin to understand ourselves better, something really powerful starts to happen. Our relationships begin to change. This season we'll start by looking inward at identity, self-worth, and the ways we lose ourselves. We'll keep asking ourselves this very important question: where am I in this? Then we'll move into relationships, like how we connect, when we withdraw, and when we struggle with conflict. And finally, we'll explore the larger systems we live in, like family, work, and the communities that shape us. The goal is to understand ourselves more so that we can bring our best, me, to every relationship in our lives. Along the way, you'll hear real anonymous stories and practical reflections to help you pause and ask the question that I believe can change everything. Where am I in this? Healthy relationships come from knowing yourself first and being able to bring a healthy me to the we. This is weight. Let's talk about that. New episodes coming soon.
